Emma Jin is a Program Analysis Engineer at r2c. Emma was previously a Software Engineer Intern at r2c from May 2020 to August 2020, where they added the ability to search for variables of a specific type to semgrep and created a pattern suggestion tool based on code snippets. Emma also investigated using datalog to simplify taint analysis. Emma was a Software Engineer Intern at Mastercard from May 2019 to August 2019, where they improved the Test & Learn software’s flexibility in matching test and control groups. Emma also implemented usability improvements including front end redesign and a new method for performing analyses. Emma coordinated with PM interns to investigate significance formulas. Emma used C#, SQL, R, and Javascript (Knockout and React) to develop, and Jira and Stash for team organization. Prior to that, they were a Computer Science Lead Teaching Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science from August 2018 to January 2021. Emma was also a Software Engineering Intern at Intelligent Automation, Inc. from May 2018 to August 2018. Her final previous position was as an Intern at Johns Hopkins University School of Education from June 2015 to August 2016.

Emma Jin completed their undergraduate degree in computer science at Carnegie Mellon University.

Emma Jin reports to Nathan Brahms, VP of Engineering. They are on a team with Martin Jambon - Program Analysis Engineer and Documenter Extraordinaire, Yoann Padioleau - Program Analysis Engineer, and Bence Nagy - Software Engineer.
