Fabio Lisi has over 10 years of experience in research and development in the field of nanotechnology. In 2010, they began their career as a Research Intern at CSIRO, where they developed magnetic nanoparticle-metal organic framework composites for the sequestration of organic pollutants. In 2012, they became a PhD candidate at CSIRO, where they researched and developed a microfluidic biosensor for the detection of Hendra virus in blood, based on fluorescent quantum dots and magnetic particles. Fabio also worked as a Laboratory Demonstrator at the University of Melbourne during their PhD.
In 2016, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Melbourne and a Research Assistant at Università di Pisa. Fabio then joined the ARC Centre of Excellence in Convergent Bio-Nano Science and Technology as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In 2017, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Acting Research Laboratory Manager at UNSW. Fabio'sresearch focused on inorganic coatings for cardiac stents, nanostructured coatings, and sensor systems.
In 2021, Fabio Lisi joined The University of Tokyo as a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellow. Fabio'sresearch focuses on developing dynamic hydrogel systems for 3D cell culture and in-vivo sensors based on quantum dots nanoparticles. In 2016, they also co-founded Radetec Diagnostics, a Melbourne-based bio-nanotechnology company specialised in the production, application and commercialisation of functional nanoparticles and equipment for lateral flow assays.
Fabio Lisi obtained a Bachelor of Industrial Chemistry from Università di Pisa from 2004 to 2009. Fabio then went on to earn a Master's degree in Materials Science from Università di Pisa from 2009 to 2011. Lastly, they completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from the University of Melbourne from 2012 to 2015. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Learning R (2013) from LinkedIn in August 2019, Beginning To Teach (BTT) and Foundations of University Learning and Teaching (FULT) from UNSW in September 2017, and the European Computer Driving Licence from ICDL Europe in April 2003.
