Armand Eliassen

Armand Eliassen has 16 years of nuclear power experience. Armand began their career in 2004 as a Materials Engineer at Naval Reactors, where they served as a Federal Project Manager (FAC-P/PM) for a $40M materials testing facility. Armand also led multiple test programs aimed at developing new base metals and weld metals, establishing design-quality materials data, preventing corrosion and fatigue, or showing acceptability of nuclear components. In 2020, they joined Radiant as Manager, Government Affairs and Business Development, where they serve as the Washington, DC-based lead for interface with federal entities, including the Department of Energy, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and legislative offices. Armand also provides materials input as part of the conceptual design process for an affordable, safe high-temperature gas 1MWe microreactor, and initiates additional analyses for reactor shielding and exposure calculations, authors technical proposals for DOE funding opportunities, and develops groundwork for a Site Use Permit application.

Armand Eliassen completed their Bachelor of Science in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 2004. Armand then went on to receive their Masters in Engineering Management from Old Dominion University in 2008.
