Neal Gutterson has a long and varied work experience. Neal began their career in 2002 as a Board Member and President & CEO of Mendel Biotechnology, Inc. In 2006, they became a Board Member of BIO. Neal then joined GrassRoots Biotechnology as a Board Member in 2009 and the Council on Sustainable Biomass Production as a Board Member in 2007. In 2013, they became a Board of Trustees at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT). In 2014, they joined DuPont Pioneer as Vice President Research and Development. In 2017, they were appointed Chief Technology Officer at Corteva Agriscience. In 2020, they became Owner at Evolution Valley Consulting LLC and a CGIAR System Board Member at CGIAR. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Partner and CTO at Radicle Growth.
Neal Gutterson received their B.S. in Chemistry from Yale University from 1973 to 1977. Neal then went on to receive their Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley from 1977 to 1982. In 2006, they attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business for Executive Education in Emerging Companies. From 2009 to 2012, they attended Harvard Business School for an Agribusiness Seminar.
