Chris Winstead has a diverse work experience. Chris began their career as an intern at Canup Engineering in 2011. Later, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Assistant at the University of Tennessee from 2014 to 2016. In 2017, they joined Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a Modeling and Simulations Software Engineer, where they designed and built software platforms for linking utility demand-response programs with commercial and industrial devices. Chris also designed and installed energy controllers for various applications. Currently, Chris is working as a Firmware Embedded Software Engineer at Radio Systems Corporation, starting in 2023.

Chris Winstead obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, with a minor in Mathematics, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Chris attended the university from 2010 to 2014. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution, completing their studies from 2014 to 2016.
