Sonny Pyon

Sonny Pyon is an experienced nonprofit professional currently serving as the Director of Gift Planning at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego since October 2024. Previously, Sonny held various roles at the San Diego Rescue Mission, including Legacy Giving Officer and Donor Relations Officer, from March 2020 to October 2024. Additionally, Sonny served as the San Francisco Metro Program Director for The Salvation Army from December 2013 to May 2019, overseeing multiple programs and a team of 20 staff members. Sonny's earlier experience includes positions such as Grants Development Officer at United Way of the Bay Area, Nonprofit Consultant at Hill & Associates, Divisional Grant Writer, Social Services Supervisor, and Program Analyst at The Salvation Army, as well as SW/NGO Consultant with the Peace Corps in Romania. Sonny holds an MS in Social Work from Columbia University and a BA in History & Sociology from Rutgers University.
