Hugh Kwon

Hugh Kwon is an accomplished bioinformatician with extensive experience in clinical and research settings. Currently serving as a Senior Clinical Bioinformatician at Rady Children's Institute for Genomic Medicine since October 2020, Hugh previously held positions as a Clinical Bioinformatician and a Bioinformatics Analyst at Children's National Hospital, where responsibilities included analyzing and automating whole genome sequencing implementation. Hugh's research background includes work as a Graduate Student Researcher focused on next-generation sequencing data at Georgetown University and as a Student Researcher at Boston College, utilizing CRISPR/dCas9 technology in yeast cell gene editing. Education credentials include a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Boston College. Early research experience includes fundamental laboratory skills learned at the University of California, San Diego, and internship at Shea Biotechnology Lab.
