Merita Gjyshinca Peja

Merita Gjyshinca Peja has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Merita is currently the Chief Financial Officer at Raiffeisen Bank Kosova since May 2023. Previously, they held the position of Head of Corporate Products and Digital Transformation at the same company from January 2020 to April 2023. Alongside their banking career, they have also served as a Member of the Supervisory Board at Raiffeisen Insurance Broker Kosovë starting from May 2023. Merita has experience in academia as well, where they worked as a Lecturer at UBT - University for Business and Technology from April 2018 to March 2021. Merita has also held executive positions such as Chief Executive Officer at Kompania e sigurimeve SIGURIA from January 2019 to December 2019, and later as Chief Executive Officer at Banka Ekonomike SH.A. from May 2014 to April 2018. Furthermore, Merita served as a Board Member at Universiteti i Prishtinës "Hasan Prishtina" from March 2018 to February 2019 and also as a Board Member at the Kosovo Banking Association from May 2014 to April 2018. Merita has lectured as a Faculty Lecturer at University “Kadri Zeka” from April 2017 to March 2018. Earlier in their career, they held various roles at Raiffeisen Bank Kosova, including Head of Private Individuals and Premium Banking from January 2010 to May 2014, Head of Distribution Channels from May 2005 to December 2009, and Branches Network Coordinator from January 2004 to May 2005. Merita's extensive work experience also includes a role as a Business Trainer & Business Advisor at REA - EU project from August 2003 to January 2004.

Merita Gjyshinca Peja began their education journey in 1996 when they enrolled at Universiteti i Prishtinës "Hasan Prishtina" to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Merita completed their undergraduate studies in 2000. Following this, they attended The London School of English in 2002, participating in the Young Business Program from January to May.

In 2005, Merita pursued further education, joining UBT & TU Wien to earn a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Management, Business, and Economics. Merita completed their studies in 2006.

In 2014, Merita embarked on a new educational pursuit at IEDC - Bled School of Management, where they are currently a DBA candidate (Doctor of Business Administration). Their field of study in this program is the Strategic Management and Leadership program, with an expected completion date in 2023.

Merita Gjyshinca Peja also acquired additional certifications to enhance their professional skills. In 2021, they obtained the following certifications from the Scrum Alliance: Certified Agile Leadership Essentials (CAL-E), Certified Agile Leadership for Organizations (CAL-O), and Certified Agile Leadership for Teams (CAL-T).
