Ramyad Hadidi has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning, computer architecture, and teaching. Recently, they worked as an Applied Machine Learning Researcher at Rain starting in March 2023. Prior to that, they served as a Machine Learning Researcher at SK hynix America Inc. from February 2021 to February 2023, where they worked on hardware-software-algorithm design for intelligent image sensors.
Before joining SK hynix, Ramyad had a long tenure at Georgia Institute of Technology, where they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant from August 2014 to May 2021. Ramyad'sresearch focused on processing in and near memory, GPUs, edge devices, robotics, IoT, ML hardware accelerators, and scientific computations. Ramyad also worked as an Instructor and Graduate Teaching Assistant during their time at Georgia Tech.
Additionally, Ramyad gained industry experience as a Software Engineering Intern at Google Research in 2018, where they designed new models for video understanding. Furthermore, they worked as an R&D Engineer at Fara Afrand, where they improved the quality of video and audio signals using Xilinx FPGAs.
Before pursuing their career in academia and industry, Ramyad served as a Freelance Teacher, specifically teaching Astrophysics Olympiad from August 2008 to August 2012.
Ramyad Hadidi completed their education in a systematic and progressive manner. They started their educational journey in 2007 by participating in the Astrophysics and Astronomy International Olympiad at the Young Scholars Club. Afterwards, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology from 2009 to 2014.
Motivated to further expand their knowledge, Ramyad then attended Georgia Institute of Technology where they completed a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Computing Systems from 2014 to 2018. Following this, they continued their studies at the same institution and pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science with a focus on Computer Architecture, which they obtained in 2021.
In addition to their degrees, Ramyad Hadidi obtained a certification in "High Level Synthesis Tutorial - DAC 2020" from Cadence Design Systems in July 2020.
