Ian Barker

Ian Barker has worked in the IT industry since 1999. Ian started their career at Bull as a Senior Consultant and was quickly promoted to Head of Telecommunications Consulting, where they built a Consulting Practice that consisted of six people. In 2000, they joined Sybase as Principal Consultant and became Practice Manager for Telecommunications three months later. In 2001, they joined MetaSolv Software as Director of Sales Analysts (Presales Consultants). After being made redundant from MetaSolv, they and their wife took a break and bought a rundown Public House, which they turned into a successful business. In 2002, they became Managing Partner of The Crown Hotel. From 2005 to 2009, they worked as General Manager at The Cruising Association, where they oversaw the movement from unincorporated institute to limited company and prepared the path for the move to charitable status. From 2009 to 2016, they worked at T-Kartor GB Ltd as a Senior Consultant and UK consultant for their Czech Republic sister company, T-Mapy. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Principal Consultant at Mfatech Limited. Since 2018, they have been working at TRUSTPORTAL SOLUTIONS LIMITED as a Senior Consultant and Pre Sales Consultant. In 2021, they began working at Rainbird Technologies as a Partner Success Manager.

Ian Barker's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Classical Studies from the Open University, which they obtained between 2012 and 2019. Ian also has a HTEC in Communication Engineering from Colchester Institute, which they obtained between 1977 and 1982. Additionally, they attended Clacton County High School between 1972 and 1977. Ian also has a certification in ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor from LRQA, which they obtained in June 2013.
