Nina Haase

Board Member at Rainforest Alliance

Nina Haase has been a member of the Rainforest Alliance Board of Directors since 2018 and was on the UTZ Supervisory Board before that.

Nina has 20 years of professional experience working with leading credible certification schemes, research, economic cooperation and development, and environmental conservation organizations – close to 15 of which she spent working with WWF in various roles and offices culminated in leading a global program. Though her roles varied greatly from campaigning and communications to advocacy, project management, and strategic coordination, the underlying theme has always been how to address the underlying drivers of ecosystem degradation.

Today, Nina is an independent advisor working with companies, civil society organizations, and individuals who want to be part of a movement for positive, inclusive societal change.

Nina is also a writer and a scholar of Eastern Philosophy as well as a practitioner and teacher of ancient spiritual practices.

She holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from the London School of Economics and lived and worked in the USA, the UK, Germany, The Netherlands, Indonesia, and China, where she started her career as a lecturer in Political Sciences.
