Phil Curwen

Phil Curwen is an experienced flight instructor at Rainier Flight Service since April 2023, providing instruction for private and commercial pilot candidates while conducting discovery flights to promote aviation enrollment. Curwen served in the United States Air Force from March 1999 to July 2022, holding various leadership roles including Military Attaché/Diplomat, Director of Operations, and Director of Intelligence, overseeing operations and managing a budget of $700k for specialized ISR missions. Curwen's expertise was further demonstrated as Chief of the ISR Warfighting Capabilities Branch and Chief of Target Intelligence Plans across multiple bases. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Defense Analysis with a focus on Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from San Diego State University.
