Nihal Shetty has a diverse professional background, currently serving on the Investments Team at Rainmatter by Zerodha since October 2025. Previously, Nihal worked in venture capital at Avaana Capital from March to July 2025, focusing on emerging opportunities in climate-tech, deeptech, and advanced industrial sectors in India. As a Core Team Member at NITKonnect from July 2020 to February 2025, Nihal contributed to creating a supportive space for alumni, students, and founders. Experience also includes a role as an Energy Markets Derivatives Trader at Futures First from January 2021 to September 2024, where Nihal specialized in trading crude and refined products. Earlier in the career, Nihal sold B2B software at Rocketium and was actively involved in various extracurricular activities during studies at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, where Nihal earned a B.Tech. in Metallurgical Engineering. Additionally, Nihal completed a Climate Fellowship at Terra.do in 2024, gaining insights into climate tech challenges and innovations.
