Toru Shimada

Toru Shimada is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles. Since November 2004, Toru has served as Executive Vice President and Representative Director at Rakuten, where prior experience includes being the Managing Director and CMO. Toru also held the position of President at Rakuten Baseball, Inc. from November 2004 to June 2012 and served as an external board member at Drecom Co., Ltd. between January 2009 and April 2012. Prior to these positions, Toru was the founder and executive vice president of Intelligence, LTD. from June 1989 to December 2000. Toru holds an AMP in Management from Harvard Business School, completed in 2010, and a BA in Marketing and Mass Media from Tokai University, earned in 1987.
