CTO at Ramp

Greig Rapley has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Greig is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Ramp since April 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Football Radar, where they held multiple positions. From November 2019 to December 2022, they served as the CEO and CTO, managing the organization during the global pandemic and overseeing an organizational restructure. During their time at Football Radar, they also served as the CTO from August 2015 to October 2019, leading the Engineering department in various areas such as technical strategy, project management, people management, and recruitment. Greig introduced a data warehouse, utilized CUDA for real-time simulations, and implemented AWS to reduce the time taken for backtesting model improvements. Greig improved the quality and uptime of the system by implementing support request management and continuous feedback processes.

Before joining Football Radar, Greig worked at Derivco as a Software Architect from September 2013 to August 2015. There, they were responsible for the architecture of the Casino product and provided technical leadership for a team of more than 120 developers. Greig also reviewed and improved the architecture and development processes for other offices within the Derivco group.

Earlier in their career, Greig worked as a Senior Developer at Bloomberg from September 2004 to January 2008, where they improved the design and implementation of the core database engine and developed an object-oriented IPC framework. Greig also held positions at Micromuse as a Software Development Team Lead and Software Developer from January 2004 to August 2004 and from August 2000 to December 2003 respectively.

Additionally, Greig has experience working in the Defense Technology Agency as a Science Researcher from November 1997 to May 2000, where they designed and prototyped data acquisition systems and evaluated radar processing algorithms. Greig also served as a Junior Officer in the Royal New Zealand Navy from January 1994 to October 1997.

Greig Rapley pursued their education in the field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In 1995, they enrolled at The University of Auckland and completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree, which they successfully obtained in 1997.
