Mica Smith has a diverse work experience spanning over the years. They began their career as a Writing Assistant and Tutor at Western Washington University in 2008, during which they provided support in writing and tutoring. In 2009, they transitioned into the role of an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the same university, where they assisted in various research projects until 2011.

After that, Mica joined the University of California, Berkeley as a Graduate Student Researcher. They contributed to research projects from July 2011 to August 2016 and also worked as a Graduate Student Instructor from September 2011 to December 2013, assisting in teaching activities.

In 2016, Mica joined Academia Sinica, Taiwan as a Research Associate, where they conducted research work until June 2017. Following this, they moved to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and held the position of Communication Fellow from April 2018 to January 2020, focusing on enhancing communication strategies. Additionally, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at MIT from September 2017 to January 2020, furthering their expertise in research.

Most recently, in 2020, Mica joined Rancho BioSciences as a Scientist/Data Wrangler, where they are currently involved in data wrangling and scientific responsibilities.

Mica Smith pursued their education from 2007 to 2011, attending Western Washington University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Physics. They then enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2011 to 2016, successfully completing their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Chemistry.
