Tracy Ballinger

Scientist at Rancho BioSciences

Tracy Ballinger's work experience includes roles at Rancho BioSciences as a Scientist starting in 2022, The University of Edinburgh as a Bioinformaticist from September 2015 to February 2022, UC Santa Cruz as a Graduate Student from September 2008 to September 2015, and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes as a Teacher in July 2015. Tracy also worked as a Summer Research Intern at Microsoft in June 2014 and as a Research Assistant at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center from September 2005 to June 2008, where they conducted data analysis for basic science research focused on methylation and histone variants in Arabidopsis and other model organisms.

Tracy Ballinger has a strong education background in the field of bioinformatics and bioengineering. They pursued their bachelor's degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2001 to 2005. Later, Tracy completed their Ph.D. in Bioinformatics at the University of California, Santa Cruz, from 2008 to 2015. In addition to their formal education, Tracy also holds a certification as a Wilderness First Responder from the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute.
