Vel Gayevskiy

Vel Gayevskiy has a diverse work experience in the field of bioinformatics. They began their career as a Translational Bioinformatics Officer at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in 2014 and then moved on to become a Bioinformatics Software Engineer and later a Senior Bioinformatics Software Engineer at the same institute. In 2018, they joined Geneious as a Bioinformatics Developer. In 2020, they worked as a Bioinformatics Postdoc at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research until 2022. Currently, Vel is employed as a Remote Bioinformatics Scientist at Rancho BioSciences since 2023. Additionally, in 2012, they founded and continue to manage LaTeXTemplates.com, LaTeXTypesetting.com, and Creodocs as the sole developer at Creodocs Limited.

Vel Gayevskiy's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at The University of Auckland and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. This program lasted from 2006 to 2008. Following this, in 2009, Vel pursued a Postgraduate Diploma of Science in Wine Science, also at The University of Auckland, which lasted for one year. Vel continued their academic journey at the same institution in 2010, completing a Master of Science degree in Biology/Biological Sciences, General. Finally, from 2011 to 2014, Vel pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, specializing in Biology/Biological Sciences, General, at The University of Auckland.
