Fernando Mata

Fernando Mata is a highly experienced water reclamation and wastewater management professional currently serving as the Water Reclamation Manager at Rancho Water since September 2025. Prior to this role, Fernando worked at the City of Redlands for over seven years, holding various positions including Wastewater Utility Manager and Wastewater Operations Superintendent. Fernando's career began in hospitality as a bartender at The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa, later transitioning into the water industry with roles at Vallecitos Water District and Inland Empire Utilities Agency. Additionally, Fernando contributed as a Lab Analyst for the USDA at the University of California, Riverside, and gained experience as a Field Sampling Tech and Laboratory Tech at Babcock Laboratories, Inc. Fernando holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering Technology from California State University, Fullerton.
