Karin Warren is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in environmental studies and science. Currently serving as Professor and Chair of Environmental Studies and Science at Randolph College since July 2002, Karin has developed a liberal arts curriculum for the Bachelor of Arts program. In addition, Karin has been an instructor for the Virginia Summer Governor's School for Science and Technology at the University of Lynchburg since July 2021, where an intensive course on meteorology and atmospheric physics is taught to high-achieving high school juniors and seniors. Previously, Karin held positions as a Research Associate and Instructor at Vanderbilt University, where courses in environmental geology and climate were taught, and as an Assistant Professor of Human and Natural Ecology at Emory University, covering Environmental Studies and Energy and Society. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley, and degrees in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from Cornell University and a Master's in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley.
