Phillip Williams is an accomplished academic and literary professional with extensive experience in creative writing and literature. As the founding faculty of the Creative Writing MFA program at Randolph College since June 2018, Phillip has significantly contributed to the field. Prior experience includes faculty positions at Bennington College, where courses taught encompassed a range of topics such as English literature and creative writing. Phillip's tenure as a Helen Putnam Fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University involved working on a new poetry collection. Additionally, Phillip has worked as a poetry editor at YesYes Books/Vinyl Poetry, held various teaching roles, and engaged in community outreach as an HIV prevention counselor. Phillip holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
