Joanne Watt is a data scientist at Randox. Joanne has previously worked as a research assistant at Ulster University and as a scientist at LifeScan.

Joanne has developed strong skills in R programming through in-house and online courses, as well as self-directed learning and a 10-week course at the University of the Highlands and Islands. Joanne is experienced in collecting and analyzing large data sets, and has used historical data to develop algorithm improvements for products. Joanne is also a certified Six Sigma Green Belt and Black Belt, with expertise in design of experiments, project planning, statistical tools, and validation.

At LifeScan, Joanne was responsible for managing a team of technicians and mentoring summer students and undergraduates. Joanne is quick to pick up new concepts and techniques, and has a broad range of experience in scientific settings. Joanne is an efficient and practical worker who is always willing to take on new challenges.

Joanne Watt completed a Master of Science in Biotechnology at Ulster University and a Bachelor of Science in Genetics at Queen's University Belfast. Joanne also attended Coleraine High School.

Joanne Watt reports to John Lamont, Chief Scientist. They work with Vidya Sagar - Scientist, Sara Jamison - Covid 19 Scientist, and Katie Reid - Immunoassay Research & Development Scientist.
