Position Snapshot As a Strategic Buyer at Range Energy, your role is crucial in driving the success of our production processes. You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality heavy-duty trailer parts, ensuring our production lines run smoothly and efficiently. By maintaining rigorous quality standards and optimizing inventory levels, you will directly contribute to the reliability and performance of our products. This role is essential in supporting Range Energy’s mission to innovate and lead in the heavy-duty trucking industry, particularly in the transition to electric vehicles. Your expertise and proactive approach will enable us to meet our production goals, overcome supply chain challenges, and deliver cutting-edge solutions to our customers. Through your efforts, you will help Range Energy maintain its competitive edge and commitment to excellence in sustainable transportation solutions.

Inside the Role:

  • Issue purchase orders with agility, adapting them as necessary to meet evolving production demands during both prototype and production phases
  • Proactively manage purchase orders, expediting or de-expediting deliveries to uphold production timelines and swiftly address any supply chain hurdles
  • Forge strong relationships with suppliers, vendors and dealers, collaborating closely with Engineering and Project Management teams to align procurement and project needs
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of trailer components, leveraging your mechanical knowledge to ensure optimal part selection and functionality
  • Address any invoice discrepancies promptly and efficiently, maintaining smooth financial transactions
  • Responsible for sourcing and purchasing components such as traditional trailer components, TRU’s, bogies, fasteners, etc.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Sourcing standard trailer components (e.g., bogie/suspension, lift gates, side gates, TRUs, wheels, tires, brakes, etc.).
  • Sourcing common parts (e.g., nuts, bolts, hoses, fluids, etc.).
  • Managing day-to-day parts dealer relationships (e.g., TEC, Fleet Pride, Trailer and Truck Parts, etc.).
  • Stretch: Assisting with materials management, logistics, and more.

The Must Haves:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the heavy-duty truck and trailer parts industry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, vital for liaising with internal departments and external partners.
  • Comprehensive understanding of trailer parts and their applications, enabling informed purchasing decisions.
  • Thrive in a dynamic environment, adept at juggling multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse teams such as Accounting, Engineering, and Project Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

Bonus Points:

  • Familiarity with electric vehicle components and trends, enhancing your ability to contribute to our innovative projects.
  • Possess a rolodex of aftermarket dealers and OEM sales teams, providing valuable connections within the industry.

Other Requirements:

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds of equipment. Comfortable with occasional bending, kneeling, and climbing as required for infrastructure maintenance. Ability to sustain extended periods of sitting and computer usage.
  • While we appreciate the importance of schedule flexibility, it's essential to note that the nature of this role necessitates a regular and consistent onsite presence.
