Duncan Baird

Mr. Duncan Baird leads the teams developing hardware and software platforms that support product integration and deployment of RANOVUS core technologies.

Duncan brings over 20 years engineering management experience spanning electronic hardware, ASIC, software, firmware, mechanical and optical design domains. He has served in design and management positions in the communications technology, enterprise computing and industrial metrology industries, among them key management roles with BTI Systems, Catena Networks (including its acquisition by Ciena in 2004) and Hymarc Ltd. Prior to joining RANOVUS, he served as Engineering Director and General Manager of the Canadian design subsidiary of a startup developing integrated coherent optics.

Duncan holds B.Eng and M.Eng degrees from McGill University in Electrical Engineering, and is a licensed P.Eng in the Province of Ontario. He has served on the boards of several not-for-profit corporations promoting cultural and social justice objectives. Duncan is also an avid performing musician, engineer and facilitator of live and recorded music projects in the Ottawa region.
