Peter Thomas

Peter Thomas has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Peter is currently working as the Senior Director of Commercial Operations & Sales Enablement at Rapid Medical since May 2022. Simultaneously, they hold the position of Senior Lecturer at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management, where they teach a graduate course on Process Improvement Methods in the Supply Chain and Operations Department.

Before joining Rapid Medical and the university, Peter worked as a Sales Operations Consultant at Populus Group from February to May 2022. Prior to that, they held various roles at Medtronic, starting as the Director of Sales Operations Venous from August 2015 to May 2019. Peter then served as the Director of Sales Operations Aortic Peripheral & Venous from May 2019 to January 2020. Finally, they assumed the role of Business Director for Endovenous, Europe, Middle East & Africa from January 2020 to July 2021. At Medtronic, Peter was responsible for overall leadership, revenue planning, P&L accountability, strategic planning, sales training, and execution. Peter also played a pivotal role in effectively responding to the impact of the pandemic.

Earlier in their career, Peter worked at Covidien as the Director of VenaSeal Integration from July 2014 to August 2015. Peter also served as the Director of Logistics, Planning & Systems for the Vascular Therapies General Business Unit from June 2012 to July 2014. Prior to Covidien, they had significant roles at ev3, including Director of Sourcing & Supply Chain from January 2010 to June 2012 and Manager of Operations Planning from January 2007 to December 2009.

Peter's experience also extends beyond the medical field. Peter served as the VP of Sales & Marketing at Kodiak Shredding from April 2004 to October 2006. Additionally, they worked as a Supply Chain Analyst/Group Leader at Guidant from April 2001 to March 2004.

Peter'simpressive professional journey began in the United States Air Force, where they held the position of Captain in Civil Engineering from January 1993 to March 2001. Throughout their career, Peter Thomas has gained expertise in commercial operations, sales enablement, supply chain management, logistics, planning, and process improvement.

Peter Thomas has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Engineering & Environmental Management from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology. Peter also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
