Brian Henderson

Brian Henderson has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and information security. Brian is currently working as a Lead Software Engineer - Cloud at Rapid7 since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Stratum Security from October 2011 to June 2021, where they held the positions of Senior Consultant and Director of Engineering. In these roles, they conducted technical security assessments, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, secure code reviews, database security testing, and exploit research and development. Brian also led on-site security risk assessment teams and performed mobile application security assessments.

Before joining Stratum Security, Brian worked at MITRE from September 2005 to October 2011 as a Sr. Information Security Engineer/Scientist. In this role, they were responsible for web application assessments, vulnerability assessments, and source code static analysis for major government sponsors and MITRE. Brian also contributed to the development of testing methodologies and provided training to new team members. Additionally, Brian led efforts to solve performance problems within a large mission-critical web application owned by a government sponsor and developed prototype client software in Java and C#.

Brian Henderson attended James Madison University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
