Edward Parkinson

Edward Parkinson's work experience includes holding various roles in different companies. Edward is currently a Board Member at IJIS Institute since June 2022 and the President - Public Sector at RapidSOS since May 2022. From 2013 to 2022, they worked at the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), where they served as the Chief Executive Officer from October 2018 to May 2022. Prior to that, they were the Director of External Affairs from March to October 2018 and the Director of Government Affairs from July 2013 to March 2018. Before joining FirstNet, Edward worked as a Professional Staff Member for the United States House of Representatives' House Committee on Homeland Security from 2008 to 2013. Edward started their career as an Associate at Kearsarge Global Advisors from April 2007 to April 2008.

From 1996 to 1999, they attended St. Stithians College, where they acquired their secondary education.

From 2001 to 2004, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in International Relations and Political Science at the University of the Witwatersrand.

In 2004 to 2005, Edward undertook an Honors degree in International Relations at the University of the Witwatersrand.

Between 2010 and 2012, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in International Relations at Georgetown University.

From 2020 to 2021, they attended the MIT Sloan School of Management, where they obtained a Certificate in Leadership in an Exponentially Changing World with a specialization in Organizational Leadership.
