Matthew MacDonald has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Matthew is currently working at RapidSOS as a Sales Engineering Manager, leading a team and managing the technical aspects of their emergency response data platform. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Sales Engineer at RapidSOS, contributing to the development and implementation of their platform.
Before joining RapidSOS, Matthew worked at InterTalk Critical Information Systems as a Chief Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for overseeing technology development and managing a team of technical professionals. Matthew also served as a Senior Systems Engineer at InterTalk, where they played a key role in designing and developing a large statewide communication system.
Earlier in their career, Matthew worked as an Electrical Engineer at F.C. O'Neill, Scriven & Assoc. LTD., where they handled electrical design elements for commercial and industrial facilities. Matthew also gained experience as an Electrical Engineer at CBCL Limited.
Matthew's early career included roles as a Software Engineer at Ontario Power Generation and as an Information Software Systems Engineer at the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and Public Works. These positions allowed him to develop technical skills in automation and web-based application development.

Matthew MacDonald completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Electrical Engineering at Dalhousie University from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they obtained several certifications including the Emergency Number Professional (ENP) from NENA: The 9-1-1 Association in May 2022, the Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit (RP) from Industry Canada in January 2019, the Professional Engineer (PEng) from Engineers Nova Scotia in February 2011, and the Engineer-In-Training (EIT) from Engineers Nova Scotia in January 2002.
