Kazunari Ishimaru

Kazunari Ishimaru is an experienced technology leader currently serving as CTO and Senior Managing Executive Officer at Rapidus Corporation since April 2023. Prior to this role, Kazunari held various positions in Kioxia Corporation, including Director at the Institute of Memory Technology R&D from June 2022 to April 2023 and Senior Fellow from October 2019 to June 2022. Kazunari's career began at Toshiba where responsibilities spanned multiple roles, including Senior Fellow and Deputy General Manager at Toshiba Memory Corporation and significant contributions to memory and semiconductor device R&D. Educationally, Kazunari obtained a Doctor of Philosophy from Tokyo Institute of Technology and has held visiting fellowships and degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from prestigious institutions such as the University of California, Berkeley, and Waseda University.
