Rare Disease Data Trust
Dr. Rhys Williams is the Chief Data Science Officer of Rare Disease Data Trust and the Vice President, Health Economics and Outcomes Research at Sunovion Pharmaceuticals. Previously, Dr. Williams was the Executive Director in Global Health Economics at Amgen and a Senior Director/Team Leader for the cardiovascular therapeutic area in US Outcomes Research at Pfizer. He has also worked with Aetna Health Plans, Bristol Myers Squibb, Janssen, and Knoll. Rhys received his BS (honors) degree in Statistics from the University of Wales. He earned dual Masters Degrees in Mathematics and Applied Statistics from Tulane University and completed his Doctoral degree in Epidemiology from Boston University. Rhys has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications which have appeared in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, and the Archives of Internal Medicine, among others. He also serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of the American Medical Association, Stroke, Value in Health, and Obesity Research.
