Salie Behardien [Masters Candidate]

Salie Behardien has extensive experience in the IT industry, starting in 1999 with roles at Sanlam as a Software Tester and Business Analyst. From there, they worked at Metropolitan as a Business Analyst and then moved on to Old Mutual South Africa as an IT Support Specialist. In 2014, they joined Clicks Group as an IT Operations Manager before transitioning to Airports Company South Africa as an IT Manager at Cape Town International Airport. From 2021 to 2023, Salie worked as an IT Manager at Capitec Bank and is currently serving as the Head of IT at Ras Al Khaimah International Airport.

Salie Behardien has a Bachelor of Commerce Honors degree in Information Technology from the University of the Western Cape, which was obtained from 2009 to 2011. Salie also holds an ITIL V3 Expert Certification from APMG International, earned from 2016 to 2026. In 2022, Salie obtained an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and an ITIL V4 Foundation certification from APMG International in 2023. Salie is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration and Management in Business Administration and Management, General from the Stellenbosch Business School starting in 2020. Additional certifications include Zero Trust Certified Architect (ZTCA) from Zscaler and Managing Across the Lifecycles (MALC) - ITIL Expert, although the exact dates or institutions for these certifications are not available.
