Abi Tinawi has over 12 years of work experience in the marketing and people management fields. In 2008, Abi began their career as a Payments Business Analyst at Lloyds Banking Group. In 2007, Abi was a Sales and Marketing Executive at Robertson Languages International Ltd. In 2008, Abi joined Lloyds TSB as a Front Line Manager in the LBG Graduate Scheme, where they were responsible for performance and people management of 25 direct reports. From 2009 to 2014, Abi held several roles at Lloyds Banking Group, including Brand Communications Planning Manager, Marketing Strategy Manager, and Consumer Marketing Manager. In 2014, Abi joined Elevate as Head of Brand & CRM, where they delivered a transformational new brand positioning strategy and campaign. In 2017, Abi became the Director of Brand and Acquisition at Elevate Credit International Limited, where they drove more than 30% year-over-year growth in sales. In 2019, Abi joined Rated People as VP People and Brand and Marketing Director. In their roles, Abi has led the people agenda, brand strategy and creative direction, performance marketing, CRM, PR, social, and content.
Abi Tinawi completed a CAM Diploma in Marketing Communications from CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2011. From 2004 to 2007, Abi Tinawi attended the University of Cambridge and earned an MA in History of Art. From 2000 to 2002, Abi Tinawi attended Reading Blue Coat School and earned A-levels in History of Art, Performance Studies, and English. Abi Tinawi also completed 10 GCSEs from Gillotts School from 1995 to 2000, including Maths, English, and French.
