Garrett James has extensive experience in parks and recreation management, currently serving as the Parks and Recreation Supervisor at Rayburn Electric Cooperative since September 2024. Previously, Garrett held multiple roles at Downtown Dallas, Inc., including Senior Manager and Manager of Parks and Public Space from July 2022 to September 2024. Prior experience includes serving as the Vice President of Park Operations at Turtle Creek Conservancy and as Assistant Superintendent at Heath Golf & Yacht Club. Garrett began career work as a mechanic at various golf courses, including Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club and Buffalo Creek Golf Course, while also gaining experience in maintenance mechanics at Plano ISD and counter sales at Crawford Electric Supply. Educational background includes a welding certification from Texas State Technical College in 2014.
