Otavio Gomes de Oliveira has extensive work experience in various roles related to research, development, and innovation. Otavio joined Rayner in 2019 as a Research Program Manager. Prior to that, they worked at Mediphacos from 2011 to 2019, where they held the position of R,D&I Manager. In this role, they were responsible for planning and executing R&D activities, managing new product development projects, budget management, and intellectual property management. Otavio also established a new department for Innovation, Research, and Development, including the creation of a modern research laboratory and implementation of management methods and tools. Otavio presented a technology roadmap at an international conference.

Before joining Mediphacos, they worked at UniBH - Centro Universitário de Belo Horizonte as an Undergraduate Teacher from 2010 to 2019 and at Faculdade IBS / FGV as an Undergraduate Teacher from 2011 to 2012. In 2008, they co-founded XNOVA IND. COM. LTDA. and worked as a Research and Development professional until 2011. In this role, they were involved in business design, product development, and manufacturing. Otavio also developed a data collector device used in the logistics of milk delivery to dairy industries. Otavio previously worked as an Undergraduate Teacher at Faculdade do Futuro from 2007 to 2009.

Otavio Gomes de Oliveira has a comprehensive education history. Otavio obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora in 2005. Following this, they pursued a Licentiate degree in Physics at the same institution until 2007. From 2005 to 2007, they completed a Master's degree in Manejo e Conservação de Recursos Naturais at the Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. Otavio then pursued further education and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Óptica Adaptativa e Sensores de Frente de Onda from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, which they completed from 2008 to 2011. In 2012, they enrolled in FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas and completed an Executive MBA of Project Management in 2014. Lastly, they pursued a Teaching and Learning in Higher Education – Introduction to University Pedagogy degree from the University of Tampere 1925-2018 in the years 2017 to 2018, focusing on the field of Educação.
