Richard Houghton

Richard Houghton has a diverse work experience in engineering and management roles. Richard started their career with BAE Systems in 1994 and held various positions until 2003. During this time, they worked as an Engineering Manager and Support Discipline Manager, overseeing avionics support equipment for the Typhoon aircraft. From 2003 to 2011, Richard worked at Raytheon UK and BAE Systems as a Programme Manager, Aircraft Engineering Manager, Integration Manager, and Solution Architect. In these roles, they were responsible for leading engineering teams, developing support solutions for the Royal Saudi Air Force, and managing programme deliverables. Since 2012, Richard has been working at Raytheon UK as the Deputy Head of Engineering, where their responsibilities include leading engineering teams, managing budgets, ensuring adherence to regulations, and fostering effective communication across teams. Richard is also an advocate for ITAR compliance and an ethics ambassador for the Broughton site.

Richard Houghton completed their undergraduate education in Systems Engineering at Loughborough University from 1993 to 1998, earning a Masters degree with a 2:1 (Hons) classification. In 2002-2003, they pursued further education at Lancaster University, UK, where they obtained a Certificate in Management (Credit).
