Phil Emmerson

Phil joined Rcapital as Partner in 2015 to deliver the successful performance of the portfolio, people and intermediary relationships. He brings over 20 years experience from the restructuring industry.

Phil joined from BDO where he was a Partner responsible for the national company-side restructuring service line. Phil specialised in operational and financial restructuring across multiple sectors, which included finding solutions to a number of challenging refinancings and accelerated M&A projects.

Prior to BDO, Phil spent 18 years at KPMG focusing on wide range of advisory services including cash management, cost reduction, business reviews, and accelerated disposals. In 2001, Phil completed a secondment at RBS, working in the Specialised Lending Services team, which offered an excellent insight into how lenders think and act in stressed situations.

As Rcapital’s COO, Phil is responsible for overseeing the investment portfolio. Phil works with a range of partners, operators and advisors who work within the portfolio, supporting turnarounds, restructuring and the growth plans of the businesses.
