Ajay Jain

Ajay Jain is a Software Engineer currently employed at Reach Progress PBC since September 2023, following a tenure at Column from April 2021 to September 2023, where Ajay focused on software solutions for local journalism and public interest data. Previous experience includes roles as a Finance Data Analyst at the Texas Democratic Party and as a Data Scientist Intern at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where Ajay worked on COVID-19 machine learning algorithms. Earlier internships at Facebook, the U.S. House of Representatives, and JPMorgan Chase & Co. enhanced Ajay's data engineering and analysis skills. Academic contributions involved research on social media influence during elections and developing educational materials for undergraduate students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where Ajay earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics and Computer Science as well as Political Science.
