Philippa Davies

Philippa plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the business as she leads the whole of engineering team. Philippa began with us as the only turbomachinery engineer in 2012 and carried out aerodynamic and mechanical concept design work for the SABRE engine. She then built an incredibly capable turbomachinery team who developed their knowledge and skills to deliver the turbomachinery designs for the SABRE Demonstrator Engine. A team she enjoyed watching share their knowledge and ideas, develop their skills and prove their capability as they tackled challenges head-on. She has since held various roles in the business including the Functional Integration Lead of the SABRE Ground-based Demonstrator Engine and the Technical Chief of Staff to the CEO. Philippa’s experience in developing engineering capability, and delivering highly complex projects and business strategies made her the ideal candidate for the Head of Engineering.
