Chris Kimmett has extensive work experience in the energy and sustainability industry. Chris is currently the Chief Operating Officer at Reactive Technologies Limited, where they oversee the company's operations. Chris also served as the Director of Power Grids at the same company, where they played a key role in enabling renewable grids and setting global power grid inertia standards.
Prior to their role at Reactive Technologies Limited, Chris worked at Ofgem as a member of the Ofgem ESO Performance Panel, where they contributed to the performance assessment of the Electricity System Operator.
Chris also has experience in the field of energy technology and management. Chris served as the Chair of the Board of Directors at Flex Assure UK, a company focused on assuring flexibility in the energy system. Chris was also a member of the Executive Committee at CIGRE UK, a global community of professionals in the electrical power industry.
Earlier in their career, Chris worked at Open Energi as the Commercial Director, leading the development and implementation of their proprietary technology for managing power consumption. Chris also held the positions of Commercial Manager and Consultant at Accenture, where they worked on sustainability software delivery and advised clients on technical implementation projects.
Chris began their career at SIFE Nottingham, where they played a role in various projects aimed at creating economic opportunities for others. Chris also gained experience as an intern at Smithfield Consultants and Brewin Dolphin in the fields of public relations and corporate broking respectively.
Chris Kimmett earned a 1st Class BA Hons degree in Industrial Economics from Nottingham University Business School between 2004 and 2007.
