Taryn Reid

Taryn Reid is an experienced analytical chemist currently serving as a Scientist I in the Metals Department at Reading Scientific Services Ltd (RSSL) since August 2020, specializing in Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) and Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) for trace elemental analysis, while also acting as the lead EHS representative for the department. Prior to this role, Taryn held the position of Senior Technician in the Wet Chemistry Department at RSSL, where adherence to GMP requirements and pharmacopoeial standards was critical. Taryn gained further experience as a Royal Society of Chemistry Analytical Studentship at AkzoNobel, focusing on VOC extraction from paints, and as a Laboratory Assistant at Brenntag UK & Ireland, performing wet chemistry analytical testing. Taryn completed an Mchem in Pharmaceutical Chemistry with a Year in Industry from the University of Leicester in 2020.
