Andrew Paylor

General Manager at Readymix Abu Dhabi

Andy Paylor is a degree qualified Geologist from University College London and Fellow of the Geological Society, London. He started his career in the readymix industry in 1993, joining the RMC (UK) Graduate Training Programme as a Graduate Engineer and progressing through the company in various roles including Operations Manager, Technical Manager, Exploration Geologist and Area Manager.

After 10 successful years, he left in 2003 to pursue a career in Qatar Readymix Qatar. As Company Manager, he was involved in securing a number of prestigious projects in the country including the Green Line Metro Project, Musherib Downtown Project, Nakilat Causeway and Dry Docks Project in Ras Laffan Ind City and the New Sidra Hospital Project, and the Qatar Foundation Library Project, the first commercially produced self-compacting concrete in Qatar as well as many other notable projects.

When promoted to the position of Country Vice President in 2011, Andy was responsible for all the Lafarge Holcim Group of companies in Qatar including Readymix Qatar, Qatar Precast and Qatar Quarry and CmCo as well as a joint venture company with BASF in the UAE. During this period, the operations consisted of 20 batching plants, over 200 truck mixers, 40 concrete pumps and staffing levels of over 700 men.

Andy Joined Readymix Abu Dhabi as General Manager in July 2020 and is keen to ensure the company achieves its vision of taking on and completing, the toughest concrete challenges and projects in the region.
