Overview

We are seeking a skilled Telecom Carrier Management Specialist to manage relationships with telecom carriers and optimize routing decisions. The goal is to ensure high-quality client experiences. This role involves traffic management, interfacing with carrier account managers, support teams, and stakeholders, and acting as the key contact for all carrier-related matters. The specialist will report to the Director of Voice Platform and Operations and collaborate closely to ensure strategic alignment and effective execution.

Key Responsibilities

Carrier Relationship Management

  • Cultivate strong relationships with SIP carriers, including CLECs and resellers, while ensuring mutual accountability for traffic and network quality.

  • Oversee the onboarding of new carriers, ensuring compliance with KYC requirements, conducting route quality testing, and evaluating rate decks to assess cost-effectiveness and negotiate favorable terms.

Technical Operations and Troubleshooting

  • Work with support teams to troubleshoot carrier-related incidents, ensuring smooth call flow, monitoring key metrics such as PDD, network efficiency rating, analyzing PCAPs and CDRs to identify and resolve technical issues to optimize network performance.

  • Switch operator experience with cloud-based telecom switches, including platforms such as VeriSwitch and SipNAV.

  • Ensure all carrier operations meet required standards for metrics like ACD, ASR, and PDD, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve performance.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.

  • Familiarity with media analysis tools such as Homer.

Data Analysis and Performance Optimization

  • Utilize data analytics skills to work with large-scale reports, extracting insights such as CPS and port capacity requirements. Focus on cost control to manage expenses effectively and on media analysis to evaluate carrier quality and optimize performance.

  • Monitor client traffic to align call stats with business requirements and optimize traffic patterns.

  • Apply knowledge of telecom metrics such as ACD, ASR, and PDD to make strategic decisions.

Compliance and Regulatory Management

  • Manage number porting processes, ANI management as a numbering issuer, and ensure adherence to KYC best practices.

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of call signing, Stir/Shaken certificate renewals, and call attestation.

  • Utilize compliance tools such as FraudCentral and YouMail to maintain high standards of network security and integrity.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in the telecom industry, with a focus on VoIP and SIP-based technologies.

  • Strong familiarity with telecom switching solutions such as VeriSwitch and SipNAV
