Chia-Ling Gau, Ph.D., DABMGG has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Starting in 1998, Chia-Ling Gau worked as a Graduate Student at the University of California, Los Angeles, where they studied the signaling pathway and involvement of small G-proteins in brain function and breast cancer.

In 2004, Chia-Ling Gau continued their work at the University of California, Los Angeles as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow, focusing on developing a viral rescue system for a mouse model of arginase deficiency and supervising student projects on neuronal cell growth and prostate cancer.

In 2007, Chia-Ling Gau transitioned to Ambry Genetics, where they held various roles, including Technical Director, Laboratory Director, Sr. Laboratory Director, VP, Executive Laboratory Director, and SVP, Clinical Operations. During their time at Ambry Genetics, they oversaw clinical operations, directed laboratory functions, and contributed to the development of diagnostic assays and validation of testing instruments.

In 2022, Chia-Ling Gau joined REALM IDx, Inc. as the VP, Global Quality and Regulatory, where they currently hold a leadership position overseeing quality and regulatory aspects on a global scale.

Chia-Ling Gau, Ph.D., DABMGG has a strong education background in the field of genetics and molecular biology. Chia-Ling obtained their Ph.D. in Microbiology, Immunology, & Molecular Genetics from UCLA, where they studied from 1998 to 2004. Prior to that, they pursued their undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where they specialized in Molecular and Cell Biology from 1994 to 1997. Chia-Ling Gau furthered their expertise by completing the American Board of Medical Genetics Training Program at UCLA from 2004 to 2007.

In addition to their formal education, Chia-Ling Gau has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and qualifications. In 2007, they achieved the Board Certification in Clinical Molecular Genetics from the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Chia-Ling also holds the Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist certification from the California Department of Public Health, obtained in October 2015. Moreover, they hold a Certificate of Qualification in Genetic Testing, limited to Molecular Biology, from the New York State Department of Health, which they obtained in March 2013.
