Will McVay has a diverse range of work experience in the technology field. Will started their career as a student in the Web Development Immersive program at General Assembly in 2013. After completing the program, they worked as a Junior Web Developer at DK where they built and maintained a travel planning website. In 2014, they held various roles at companies such as Mobile-5, Likely Ltd, and JustInvesting, where they gained experience in front-end development and JavaScript. Will also worked as a Teaching Assistant at General Assembly and supported programming courses. In 2015, they joined Sainsbury's as a JavaScript and Front End Developer, working on the rebuild of their online platform. From 2016 to 2018, they worked at Pie.io, first as a Front End Engineer and later as the Vice President of Engineering. During this time, they managed teams and was responsible for maintaining technical standards. In 2018, they joined Culture Trip as a Tech Lead, leading the development of an online travel agency. Currently, they are the Head of Cloud at Reapit UK, where they provide technical and product leadership for cloud-based application marketplace products. Will'sexperience includes working with technologies such as React, Redux, TypeScript, NodeJS, and AWS infrastructure.
Will McVay attended Durham University from 2000 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy.
