Andrew Newman

Founder/CTO at Reason Software Company

Andrew Newman has over 20 years of experience in the software industry. Andrew began their career in 2000 as an Architect at Click Commerce. In 2001, they founded and served as Software Architect for GIANT Company Software Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft in 2004. At Microsoft, they served as Lead Security Program Manager Windows Defender, releasing the first version of Microsoft Anti-Spyware and designing the second generation Microsoft antimalware platform Windows Defender. In 2008, they founded Sortuva Company Inc. and developed an associated search engine. The platform eventually morphed into a mobile iOS and Facebook app which won the FBFund in 2009. In 2010, they founded Red Foundry and served as Founder/CTO. Since 2012, they have been Founder/CTO of ReasonLabs, building PC security and anti-frustration products.

Andrew Newman attended the University of Rhode Island from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a BA in Psychology and Political Science.
