Tonya Ward

Tonya Ward has a strong background in data science, bioinformatics, and microbiome research. Tonya is currently working as the Senior Director of Microbiome Data Science at Rebiotix Inc (a Ferring Company) since March 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Director of Bioinformatics & Laboratory Operations at Diversigen, Inc. from June 2022 to March 2023. Tonya also worked as the Director of Data Science & Bioinformatics at Diversigen, Inc. from January 2020 to March 2022. Before entering the industry, Tonya worked as a Data Science Manager and Senior Scientist at CoreBiome, Inc. and as a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities from 2014 to 2018.

Tonya Ward holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry, which they obtained from the University of Ottawa between the years 2009 and 2014. Prior to their doctoral studies, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Genetics at Western University, from 2004 to 2008.
