Head Of Vehicle Integration Project Re:car at Re:Build Manufacturing

Rod Romain has extensive work experience in the automotive industry spanning over two decades. Rod currently holds the position of Head of Vehicle Integration Project Re:Car at Re:Build Manufacturing since August 2022.

Prior to their current role, Rod served as the Chief Project Engineer at OSIRIUS GROUP LLC from January 2022 to July 2022.

From 2008 to 2022, Rod worked at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in various roles. Rod held the position of Chief Engineer from December 2016 to January 2022, where they led a team of senior engineers in defining, developing, and validating future model vehicle functional requirements, as well as managing the vehicle fleet for validation and development. Rod also served as the Vehicle Integration Manager from January 2014 to January 2022, responsible for defining and validating functional requirements for Ram HD products, managing the departmental DVP, vehicle test fleets, and addressing current product quality issues. Before that, Rod worked as the Vehicle Integration Responsible from August 2011 to December 2013, leading a team of vehicle synthesis engineers in defining and validating functional requirements, managing the departmental DVP, vehicle test fleets, and addressing current product quality issues. Rod also held the role of Release Engineer from January 2010 to July 2011, where they were responsible for defining future diesel engine features, engine sourcing, and supplier technical negotiations. Additionally, Rod worked as the Powertrain Synthesis Engineer from September 2008 to December 2009, responsible for powertrain integration on HD Trucks, including establishing performance requirements, leading validation activities, and coordinating with internal and external teams.

Before joining FCA, Rod worked at Chrysler as the Vehicle Development Team Leader from 2007 to 2008, leading a team in developing and launching the Dodge Chassis Cab Trucks. Rod was responsible for customer attribute validation and root cause analysis of issues.

Prior to Chrysler, Rod worked at Daimler Chrysler from 2000 to 2007 in the role of Durability Engineer. Their responsibilities included establishing the durability test plan for Dodge Dakota pickups, managing the test fleet, and addressing issues by leading initial root cause analysis. Rod also worked at Daimler Chrysler as the Plant Quality Engineer from 1998 to 1999, leading quality activities for the Dodge Viper program and conducting root cause analysis on assembly floor issues.

Rod started their career at Chrysler in 1997 as a Resident Engineer, responsible for quality control of Viper V-10 engines, propshafts, and oil pumps. Rod performed root cause analysis on quality issues and worked with releasing engineers and suppliers to improve long-term quality.

Overall, Rod Romain has a wealth of experience in vehicle integration, project engineering, powertrain, durability testing, and quality control in the automotive industry.

Rod Romain obtained a Bachelor's degree, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, from Michigan Technological University. Rod pursued their education at the university from 1991 to 1996.
