Stian Mathisen

Head Of Corporate Communications, Public Affairs And Sustainability at Recharge

Stian Mathisen has extensive work experience in corporate communications and public affairs. Stian currently holds the position of Head of Corporate Communications, Public Affairs, and Sustainability at Recharge since May 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Public Relations and Regulatory Affairs at Recharge from March 2022 to May 2023.

Before joining Recharge, Stian worked at Fortum as the Corporate Communications Manager for Norway from January 2018 to February 2022. In this role, they led a team of communications professionals and was responsible for media relations, issues management, and crisis communications. Stian also worked as a Communications Specialist at Fortum from May 2015 to December 2017, where they handled press releases, media contact, and long-term communications strategies.

Stian began their career as a Communications Officer at the Mission of Norway to the EU from February 2013 to April 2015. Prior to that, they completed a traineeship at the same organization, working with various areas of cooperation between Norway and the EU.

Stian also has experience in journalism, having worked as a Journalist for Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad for a brief period in 2012. Stian served as the Web Editor, News Editor, Debate Editor, and Journalist for Under Dusken, Scandinavia's oldest student newspaper, from 2007 to 2009.

Stian gained valuable sales experience as a Salesman at Hi-Fi Klubben A/S from September 2009 to June 2012. Additionally, they worked as a Postman at Posten Norge from October 2004 to August 2010 and continued part-time while studying. Stian was also a Bartender and a Gas Station Employee at Olseng Marina from 2000 to 2004 and a Gas Station Employee at Skjeberg Servicesenter from 2001 to 2003.

Stian Mathisen obtained a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a major in Sociology and Religion from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) between the years 2005 and 2008. Stian later pursued a Master's degree in Sociology at the University of Oslo (UiO) from 2010 to 2012.
