Michael Benton

Mike joined Reconomy in 2003 and has been crucial to delivering the various stages of the strategic plan and helping to drive the group’s growth since that time. As Operations Director, Mike is responsible for all supply chain management, procurement, compliance and commercial development activity – overseeing the successful launch of several innovative new products and services for difficult to manage waste streams.

Mike takes an active role in the integration of acquired companies, ensuring the benefits of group synergy and efficiency are realised. He also regularly works with customers through the account management team to find solutions for large projects, has successfully extended the Reconomy Social Value Programme (RSVP) into the supplier base, driven adoption of Reconomy’s various digital supply chain channels and hosted several successful Reconomy Supplier Forum’s helping hundreds of operators in the waste industry stay up to date with technology and important topics such as Modern Day Slavery. Mike’s knowledge of, and passion for, the waste industry is based on unrivalled experience. Prior to Reconomy he held various sales and operations management roles at Veolia.
