Mario Maldonado Lutomirsky

Mario Maldonado Lutomirsky has a wealth of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mario is currently serving as the Global Head Clinical Development for Endocrinology at Recordati Rare Diseases Inc., a position they have held since August 2023. Prior to this, they worked at MSD as the Executive Director and Diabetes & Endocrinology Therapeutic Area Head, managing European Clinical Development from October 2016 to July 2023. Before that, they were a Sr. Clinical Program Leader at Boehringer Ingelheim from January 2013 to September 2016. Mario also held roles at Novartis as a Sr. Global Clinical Leader from July 2008 to December 2012 and as a Principal Medical Scientific Expert from January 2007 to July 2008. Mario started their career at Bristol-Myers Squibb as an Associate Director from November 2003 to January 2007. Mario Maldonado Lutomirsky began their professional journey as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine from July 2000 to November 2003.

Mario Maldonado Lutomirsky began their education by completing preclinical studies at Universidad Francisco Marroquín from 1986 to 1988, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree. Mario then pursued further education in the field of Medicine at the same university from 1989 to 1993, obtaining their Medical Doctor (MD) degree. Afterward, they attended the University of Illinois Chicago, where they studied Internal Medicine from 1994 to 1997 and became an Internist. Continuing their medical specialization, Mario Maldonado Lutomirsky then attended Baylor College of Medicine from 1997 to 2000, where they completed a fellowship in Endocrinology Diabetes and Metabolism.
